PREREQUISITE: None

COURSE OUTLINE: This course is crafted to equip first responders with critical knowledge on handling lithium-ion battery incidents, prevalent in everything from smartphones to electric vehicles. First responders will be taught the chemistry of battery failure, lithium-ion hazard mitigation, and skills for effectively extinguishing battery fires. This will be followed by instruction on battery system disposal and assessment of energy storage systems (ESS).
