Bucks County Community College (BCCC) – Training Updates for Tioga County

Effective: 1 Jan 2026

No-Cost Training

  • All BCCC classes hosted in Tioga County WILL REMAIN free for students who are members of a Fire/EMS Department within Tioga County.
Do I need to pre-register for BCCC classes?
  • Yes. For BCCC classes, students must pre-register through BCCC Campus Marketplace once it’s online. Until Campus Marketplace is online, please continue to pre-register for 2026 classes through the Tioga County Training Coordinator. Instructions will be emailed once the new system is live.
  • BCCC is finalizing the pre-registration process. 
  • For non-BCCC classes, nothing has changed with registrations.
No-Show Policy (Strictly Enforced)
  • You may drop a class up until the Campus Marketplace registration deadline.
  • After the deadline, you must provide:
    • A legitimate reason for withdrawal, or
    • A letter/email from your Department Chief authorizing your absence.
  • Failure to follow this process will result in being marked as a no-show under BCCC policy.

What training courses are available?
  • View the Training Calendar to see upcoming courses.
  • The calendar includes classes held in Tioga County as well as select offerings in neighboring counties.
Who can sign up for training courses?
  • If you are part of an Emergency Services Department within Tioga County and meet the course prerequisites, you may sign up.
Do I really need to pre-register?
  • Yes. Pre-registration helps the Training Coordinator determine interest and ensures classes can run.
  • If a class requires a minimum of 10 participants but only 8 pre-register, the course may be cancelled even if others plan to attend.
  • Pre-registered participants receive updates about class changes or cancellations.
How do I sign up for a training course?
Important: All law enforcement, EMS, and firefighters must have approval from their Chief or Training Officer before being officially registered for a class.
  • For most non-BCCC classes (special instructions will be posted if required):
    • Complete a Registration Form and/or a signed Training Authorization Form and submit to:

How much does it cost to attend?
  • BCCC classes in Tioga County: Free for students who are members of a Department within Tioga County.
  • Certification Exams Through BCCC:
    • National Certification Exams: $25 each (written); $225 (practical)
    • Online classes: $5
    • National Exam retests: $25
    • Additional exceptions may apply depending on the course
  • Costs will be posted on the course advertisement.
How will I know if a course is rescheduled or cancelled?
  • Students will be notified if a class is cancelled.
  • Ensure your contact information is current.
  • Cancellations are also announced during weekly training updates and out-of-service notices.
What if I need to withdraw from a course?
  • Contact the Tioga County Emergency Services Training Coordinator or the course registration contact at least 5 days prior to the course start date.
