Geographically, Tioga County is the second largest county in Pennsylvania, covering 1,100 square miles. The population is 42,000 people. Over 82% of the county is rural, and miles of country roads and mountainous terrain separate the towns and villages we serve.
Tioga County residents have access to a variety of resources, including a unique area-wide health system, a community college and a state university.
Our manufacturing base and service industries are growing. Tourism is rapidly becoming a major source of revenue for the area. In a recent study compiled by editors of the national magazine Sports Afield, Wellsboro was cited as one of the 50 best outdoor towns in the nation. |
