What is a Floodplain Administrator?

A Floodplain Administrator is the principal community manager in the daily implementation of flood loss reduction activities, including enforcing the community's flood damage prevention ordinance, updating flood maps, plans, and policies of the community, and any of the activities related to administration of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).


Who is required to have a Floodplain Administrator?

Every municipality in Tioga County, Pennsylvania needs to have a Floodplain Administrator in order to be in compliance with their own Floodplain Ordinance.
