The Tioga County Department of Emergency Services is a department within county government that administers several different programs that work together to enhance the safety and well-being of residents and visitors to Tioga County.

The Department includes the programs of Emergency Management Agency and Homeland Security, 911 Communications Center, Hazardous Material Planning & Response, Emergency Medical Services, Law Enforcement, and Fire/Rescue Training. The Department is also a member of the North Central Task Force (NCTF), a regional Homeland Security alliance with the 6 surrounding Pennsylvania Counties.

 

TIOGA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY SERVICES (DES)

 

DEFINITION: Emergency Services encompass volunteer and career 9-1-1 Call-taking and Dispatching, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Fire/Rescue, Law Enforcement, Public Health, and Public Works agencies with a responsibility for providing essential skills, resources, subject matter expertise, and functions before, during, and after an emergency incident or large-scale disaster.

VISION: The Department of Emergency Services seeks to promote safer, more resilient communities with the capacity to efficiently and effectively manage critical incidents and large scale disasters without preventable disruptions in community.

MISSION: Our Mission is to provide a comprehensive and integrated public safety system that coordinates community resources to ensure the resilience of life safety, property, the environment and the economy through prevention/protection, mitigation, response and recovery from natural and human-caused hazards that may impact the residents and visitors of our county.
